Mandelkuchen
(Almond Cake)
4 oz. (1/4 lb.)
Bavarian Almonds, crushed
8 oz. whipping cream
4 eggs
2- ½ tsp. baking powder
1- ½ cups sugar (divided)
1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
2 tsp. vanilla (divided)
4 tbsp. milk
2 cups flour
Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Beat eggs with 1 cup sugar, & 1 tsp. vanilla.
Add whipping cream, flour & baking powder.
Stir thoroughly and spread in a greased 9 x 13 inch pan.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
Melt butter. Add ½
cup of sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, milk and crushed Bavarian almonds
and stir to mix.
Spread on top of cake and bake for another 10 minutes.
